Q1: The Early Measures Programme: Includes a short summary on an innovative initiative developed by IDC to offset the negative implications in the wake of a project delay. We also highlight the profiles of two of our team who started as young interns who have stayed on with IDC to work on the Early Measures Programme.
Q2: Pastoralists: This quarter we take a specific look at various IDC initiatives we have worked on with Barbaig pastoralists, including access to land, education, cattle veterinary services and added value processing. It includes updates on the Early Measures programme and two profiles of our pastoralists team.
Q3: Nigeria – Socio-political and economic baseline studies: In Quarter 3, we include work undertaken in Rivers State Nigeria. This is probably one of the more fascinating baseline studies IDC has undertaken, as it embraced the political elements as well. We profile the IDC team that went to Nigeria to recruit and train up young graduates in Nigeria. It also includes updates on the Early Measures programme.
Q4: International Safeguards: This last quarter newsletter looks at International safeguards now in place by many financial institutions to achieve financial close on inward investment projects. We provide practical examples of negotiating the balance between National Laws and environmental and social safeguards required and look at the implications on development in the emerging markets across the world. We provide Early Measure updates and feature another two profiles of our growing internship programme.
